Nike Air Max 95 OG Big Bubble ‘Grape’ Release Date

The return of an elusive, fan-favorite colorway of the Nike Air Max 95 is just around the corner and it’s already begun popping up at some retailers.

The Nike Air Max 95 OG Big Bubble Grape has long been a beloved style of the mid-1990s retro running shoe. The white-based White/Court Purple/Emerald Green/Wolf Grey style was one of the a handful of original colorways of the sneaker from ’95, although its exact color combination has varied over the years with other titling including White/Wild Grape/Dark Jade.

A women’s exclusive, the pair’s nickname comes from its similarities to Michael Jordan’s Air Jordan 5 Grape sneaker, originally released in 1990. Like the Air Jordan 5, the Air Max 95 iteration features a predominantly white upper with a combination purple and emerald accents, with 95 mixing in some gray and silver hues for good measure. 

While it’s been reissued in various capacities since its ’95 debut, the Grape Air Max 95 has never returned quite like this. The upcoming reissue will be the first variation of the colorway of use Nike’s remastered OG Big Bubble treatment, which should make the 2026 release the closest the pair has come to matching the feel and look of the ’95 version.

In addition to the return of the original Grape look, Nike will also introduce a new black-based spin on the colorway this year. A similar Black Grape style was released in 2019, but that pair featurd a reptile-textured finish. 

The official Nike release isn’t expected until later this spring, but the Air Max 95 OG Big Bubble Grape has already begun popping up from stores including Hibbett, where select sizes remain available for $190. Readers can expect a wider release of the colorway in the coming weeks. The style code for this women’s-exclusive pair is HJ5996-100.
