Prime Video Has a New Weekend Binge Series That’s Perfect for ‘Fallout’ Fans

It’s unlikely that any streamer will ever have the power to supplant Netflix, but the only rival to even come close so far is Prime Video. While Prime Video was once viewed as a housing platform for many of the popular movies and TV shows that weren’t on Netflix, the streamer has since released some of the best movies and TV shows in the game. Between hit action shows like Reacher (Alan Ritchson) and Fallout (Walton Goggins), Prime Video has one of the densest libraries of original programming. The latter of these two shows recently went off the air, but another series is stepping in to fill its gap.

Near the end of 2024, Prime Video released the first season of Cross, the hard-boiled detective drama starring Aldis Hodge (Black Adam). The show was an instant smash hit, earning strong viewership throughout its first season and scoring a swift Season 2 renewal. Prime wasted no time moving into production on Cross Season 2, which is scheduled to begin streaming on February 11 with three new episodes before switching to a weekly release through March 18. The show is based on the series of popular Alex Cross detective novels by acclaimed mystery writer James Patterson.

Before Cross Season 2 begins streaming on Wednesday, the first season of the hit show has charged back into the global Prime Video top 10. It’s undoubtedly paving the way for its second season, which is expected to top watchlists immediately upon its premiere. Cross is filling the void left behind by Fallout, which just aired its Season 2 finale last week. Cross Season 1 is the best option on Prime Video to binge this week/weekend to catch up on all the action before Season 2.

Prime Video’s New Action Movie Has Shades of ‘Lethal Weapon’

Prime Video’s latest smash-hit action thriller, The Wrecking Crew, stars Dave Bautista and Jason Momoa. The Hawaii-set crime thriller follows a pair of estranged brothers who come together to solve the mystery of their father’s murder, and it’s been #1 on Prime Video for over 10 days now. The film is being hailed as a modern version of Lethal Weapon, the classic crime thriller starring Mel Gibson and Danny Glover. Both feature unlikely buddy cop duos who struggle to get along but reluctantly team up for the greater good.

Be sure to watch the first season of Cross on Prime Video and stay tuned to Collider for more streaming updates.
