Trailer For Money Heist Spin-Off

The trailer for Money Heist spin-off Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine is here and it’s an all-action affair. Replete with fast cars, boats, guns, explosions and huge vaults, the teaser packs a lot into 90 seconds. The voiceover, meanwhile, sets the scene, quite literally: “Seville…the perfect setting to inspire our new heist.”

Berlin and the Lady with an Ermine follows on from Berlin, a prequel spin-off to Netflix’s smash-hit Spanish series Money Heist. The new season is set in Seville, Spain. Berlin and Damián bring the team back together, seemingly with an audacious plan to lift Leonardo da Vinci’s Renaissance masterpiece The Lady with an Ermine. All is not, however, how it seems. The real target is the Duke of Málaga and his wife, a couple who think they can blackmail Berlin.

The scale of the crime caper is spelled out in the trailer, again via the voiceover: “We’re going for the biggest heist in history.”

Pedro Alonso, Michelle Jenner, Tristán Ulloa, Begoña Vargas, Julio Peña Fernández and Joel Sánchez all reprise their roles in the series. Inma Cuesta (The Mess You Leave Behind) joins the lineup as Candela, a new addition to the gang. Other new cast members include José Luis García-Pérez (Honor) and Marta Nieto (Mother) as the Duke and Duchess of Málaga.

The eight-episode drama drops on Netflix on May 15. It was created by Álex Pina and Esther Martínez Lobato. The Money Heist duo wrote the new series alongside David Barrocal, Lorena G. Maldonado, Itziar Sanjuán, Humberto Ortega and Luis Garrido Julve.

Directing duties are shared by Albert Pintó, Barrocal and José Manuel Cravioto. Pina’s Vancouver Media label produces.
