Arctic Monkeys have returned with a new song. “Opening Night,” their first release since 2022’s The Car, appears on a forthcoming benefit album for the UK-based children’s charity War Child. Listen to it below.
The band recorded the track at Abbey Road Studios as part of the new compilation HELP(2), due out March 6 on War Child Records. The record also features contributions from Big Thief, Cameron Winter, Arooj Aftab and Beck, Olivia Rodrigo, Sampha, King Krule, Depeche Mode and Black Country, New Road. Simian Mobile Disco’s James Ford executive produced the album, while The Zone of Interest director Jonathan Glazer created all of the accompanying visuals.
HELP(2) draws inspiration from the 1995 charity compilation HELP, which was recorded in a single day to to raise money for War Child’s humanitarian aid in Bosnia. It included songs from Radiohead, Oasis, Massive Attack, and Sinead O’Connor. Now, HELP(2) is raising money to support War Child’s continued work in conflict zones.
