Apple TV’s 10/10 Sci-Fi Series With No Bad Episodes Is the Ultimate Weekend Binge

Apple TV has quite a few sci-fi hits in its repertoire during its first few years as a massive streaming competitor. Most recently, the up-and-coming streamer aired the first season of Pluribus, the new series created by Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul writer Vince Gilligan. The show stars Rhea Seehorn, and it not-so-quietly shattered ceilings to become Apple TV’s biggest sci-fi show in history. The streamer also recently premiered brand-new seasons of Foundation and Invasion, both of which feature big stars like Lee Pace (The Running Man) and Shamier Anderson (John Wick: Chapter 4). One of Apple TV’s original sci-fi hits, For All Mankind, is also set to return with its long-awaited fifth season soon, and many fans are speculating that it could be the last season. Apple TV’s biggest sci-fi misfire to date is Constellation, the thriller starring Noomi Rapace, which was canceled after only one season.

Although it’s no longer Apple TV’s biggest sci-fi show, the platform’s most important entry in the genre is Severance, directed by Ben Stiller and starring Adam Scott. The show lost its title as Apple TV’s most-watched sci-fi show to Pluribus last year, but it’s still the series that drew many fans to subscribe to the platform in the first place. The series follows a group of employees who work on a suspicious floor at Lumon Industries who have chosen to undergo a procedure known as severance, which completely splits them into two personalities inside and outside the office. It’s quickly approaching a full year since the Season 2 finale of Severance aired on Apple TV, but the show is still sitting comfortably in the global top 10 at #6 at the time of writing.

Is ‘Severance’ Season 3 Still in the Works?

Apple TV renewed Severance for a third season one day before the premiere of the Season 2 finale, and it is still confirmed to be in the works. Just a few weeks ago, Severance star John Turturro confirmed that production on Season 3 was set to commence this July, and just this weekend at the Actor Awards, Jen Tullock teased a dark turn in store for Devon in Season 3. Ben Stiller previously promised a shorter gap between Seasons 2 and 3 than between Seasons 1 and 2, so the team has a lot of work to do quickly to give weight to this promise.

Check out the first two seasons of Severance on Apple TV, and stay tuned to Collider for more streaming updates.
