Puma and Guizio Drop All-black Limited-edition Speedcat: Details

The Puma Speedcat is getting the downtown New York City treatment — with the help of Guizio. Their latest take on the trendy slim sneaker, the Puma x Guizio Noir Speedcat, is available on guizio.com and the brand’s app following a debut at the Guizio New York City flagship on Saturday.

The brands have created a minimalist all-black version of Puma’s iconic racing sneaker. The low-profile racing style is crafted with breathable mesh and smooth leather overlays, while subtle branding details rep the collaboration.

“I’ve always felt there was a gap when it came to a truly sleek, sophisticated sneaker you could wear straight to the office, into meetings, and throughout your day while still looking refined,” founder Danielle Giuzio said of the new shoes. “I was so excited to finally create the perfect black sneaker designed to pair seamlessly with an all-black outfit. It’s the perfect addition to your everyday uniform.”

Guizio and Puma have collaborated on several previous projects together. Their third collaboration, which launched in September, was ’90s-inspired and centered the retro runner known as the Puma H-Street. The brands have also presented a Dark Chocolate suede Speedcat in addition to a black-and-white leather version. They reinterpreted the Speedcat Mesh in 2024.

As the era of slim shoes got going, the Speedcat became one of the hottest sneakers of 2024, and Puma continues to push the sneaker’s momentum forward. A recent collaboration with MadHappy gave the Speedcat Plus a satin jacquard treatment, for example.

Meanwhile, Guizio is doubling down in the shoe department. The brand recently expanded its footwear collection with the introduction of the Sonny pump and the Billy Boot, black leather styles with the brand’s trademarked CloudStep Cushion Insole included.

Danielle Guizio told FN for a story on the footwear expansion, “Dressing the customer head to toe in Guizio has always been a dream of mine, and footwear felt like the right category expansion at this point in the brand’s evolution. As we open more stores and are getting to know our customer even better, it felt important to offer her that final piece that completes the look.”
