Hear “Broken Glass” & “Secret World”

The Boston post-punk/noise-rock band Black Beach announced their album Mail Thief a few weeks back with the release of lead single “Broken Glass.” Today they’ve returned with an impressive new track called “Secret World.”

This group’s rhythm section manages to create a sense of major heft and weightless motion simultaneously; the girthy, propulsive bass is especially prominent here. Combined with body-moving hi-hat action, mesmerizing high-string guitar action, and shouted lyrics that feel like a town crier letting it rip through a megaphone, it adds up to a song I’ve run back several times this afternoon. You may be inclined to do so as well, especially if you’re into bands like Preoccupations.

Hear “Secret World” and “Broken Glass” below.

Mail Thief is out 3/20 via Best Brother Records. Pre-order it here.
