Producers April Kelley and Sara Huxley have signed with UTA, which will also represent their production company, Mini Productions.
Founded in 2012, Mini Productions was set up with a commitment to championing original and underrepresented perspectives, including female-led storytelling, LGBTQ+ narratives, and projects engaging with mental health.
Prior to producing features, Mini Productions built a successful catalogue of award-winning short films that screened internationally and helped establish the company’s creative voice.
Mini’s debut feature “Rose” was nominated for the Raindance Discovery Award at the British Independent Film Awards (BIFA) in 2020. Written by and starring Matt Stokoe, and co-starring Sophie Rundle, and Olive Gray, “Rose” has gone on to screen at Melbourne International Film Festival, Sitges Film Festival, and Trieste Science+Fiction Festival.
Their BIFA and BAFTA long-listed short film Edith was the directorial debut for actor Christian Cooke and starred BAFTA winner Peter Mullan. In January 2022, they went on to shoot Cooke’s debut feature film “Embers” starring Ruth Bradley, David Wilmot, and Clare Perkins.
The company has since produced both narrative and documentary features, including “Murder at the Embassy,” distributed by Lionsgate, and the trans documentary “Tomorrow’s Too Late,” which premiered at Sheffield DocFest. In 2025, Mini Productions was selected for AMC Networks’ Production–Film Supplier Mentoring Program.
Individually, Kelley’s credits include “Plainclothes,” the Sundance Award–winning feature film, while Huxley’s producing credits include BAFTA-winning ITV drama “Mr Bates vs The Post Office.”
