“We all share that passion: which is the idea of creating something, changing something…” A24 unveiled their official trailer for a documentary film called Marc by Sofia, the latest film from acclaimed American filmmaker Sofia Coppola – following her film Priscilla previously. This premiered at the 2025 Venice Film Festival last year to mixed reviews, but didn’t show anywhere else. Next playing at the MoMA Documentary Fortnight in March. The film is an intimate documentary portrait of Marc Jacobs as directed by his friend and collaborator of over three decades. Coppola wanted to “capture the genius and singular universe of the iconic American designer.” Shot by Roman Coppola, Jenna Rosher, Shane Sigler. The reviews are on both sides, with some stating it’s “a missed opportunity, revealing very little to the extent one thinks it might as well have been a glossy coffee table photobook instead of a film.” If you’re interested in fashion, take a look.
