Chilling Teaser Trailer for Kane Parsons’ Sci-Fi ‘Backrooms’ A24 Film

“It just goes on and on and on! All these rooms…” A24 has unveiled the first look teaser trailer for their film Backrooms, a feature film version of the web series created by the YouTuber Kane Parsons aka Kane Pixels. This is one of the most ambitious new sci-fi horror concepts coming up this year – created by one of the youngest filmmakers to ever making a movie for A24. It’s now set for a nationwide release in theaters starting in late May. It is based upon the urban legend and creepypasta of the same name that was made into Parsons’ YouTube series. The film stars Chiwetel Ejiofor, Renate Reinsve, Mark Duplass, Finn Bennett, Lukita Maxwell, and Avan Jogia. A series of disturbing home videos captures the supernatural events that terrorize their witnesses: a strange doorway appears in the basement of a furniture showroom. “A film by Kane Parsons whose original upload redefined the landscape of horror for a new generation.” Yep I’m all in. A very chilling teaser – that voiceover explanation with this minimalistic footage has me hooked.

Backrooms is directed by the British-American young filmmaker Kane Parsons, also known as “Kane Pixels“, a famous YouTuber making his feature directorial debut with this film. The screenplay is written by Will Soodik, with Roberto Patino. Based on the web series “Backrooms” created by Kane Parsons. It’s produced by Shawn Levy, Dan Levine, Dan Cohen, James Wan, Michael Clear, Roberto Patino, Chris Ferguson. This hasn’t premiered at any film festivals or elsewhere yet, but might show up soon. A24 debuts Kane Parsons’ Backrooms film in theaters nationwide starting May 29th, 2026 coming up. Who’s curious?
