The Secret Agent, a tense thriller set in 1970s Brazil, is the next screening in our Dazed x MUBI Cinema Club on February 21.
Director Kleber Mendonça Filho’s film sees Wagner Moura play an academic on the run, desperately trying to escape the country and evade the two hitmen on his trail. On the way, he has to contend with corruption, disembodied limbs, and townsfolk obsessed with sharks. Moura has already won a Golden Globe for his performance in the fast-paced drama, and it’s up for several Oscars, including Best Picture and Best International Feature Film.
Tickets are now on sale for our preview screening on February 21 at the Rio Cinema in Dalston. Doors will open at 3:30pm, with the film starting at 4:00PM. After the screening, we’ll be hosting a Q&A with Mendonça Filho to dig into his creative process and the inspiration behind his latest work. You’ll get a free drink and popcorn with your ticket, too.
