Ronnie Fieg Reveals Nike KD 18 x Air Max 95 Neon Mashup

Devin Booker has made incorporations of classic Nike sneakers a core element of his own signature line, and one-time teammate Kevin Durant is getting into the mix with a little help from Ronnie Fieg and Kith.

The Kith x Nike KD 18 mashes up Durant’s latest model with the Air Max 95 “Neon,” the most iconic of all renditions for the timeless sneaker. Under Fieg’s stead, the shoe’s upper maintains the original shape of the KD 17 but with the Air Max 95’s wavy gradient stripes, toe box and nylon lace loops. Colorblocking remains true to the “Neon” AM95, with the key exception of a black tongue.

If you look closely at the suede stripes, you’ll see a rectangular checkerboard pattern featuring Kith’s box logo and the Swoosh. KD and Kith branding are then incorporated into the Air Max 95’s tongue logo on the left and right shoe, respectively, with the application reversed for the insoles.

During last year’s holiday season, Kith gave the Air Max 95 the same checkerboard treatment in two colorways including one modeled after the New York Knicks, but both were limited to childrens’ sizing.

Just last week, Booker’s Nike Book 2 released with an upper from the Zoom Spiridon following several colorways of the Book 1 modeled after classic Nike sneakers. LeBron James’ Nike LeBron 21 also got mashups with Deion Sanders’ Air DT Max ’96 and Air Diamond Turf last year.

The Kith x Nike KD 18 doesn’t appear set for a public release, as the inner tongue tag reads, “Friends of KD and RF.” Some of those pairs could wind up hitting the resale market for a nontrivial price, which will be worth looking out for if cost isn’t a concern.
