“My attorney will bury you!” A24 & HBO have unveiled an official trailer for a new late-night reality series called Neighbors, a sort of old school throwback to capturing the “crazy lives of normal people” series that we used to see on HBO all the time (I was a fan of “Insomniac with Dave Attell” growing up). This explosive unfiltered series explores the chaotic & complicated disputes of neighbors… and also the extreme lengths they’ll go to defend what’s theirs. Created and directed by Harrison Fishman & Dylan Redford, it examines stories of absurd, outrageous, and dramatic real-life residential conflicts from a wide range of larger-than-life characters across the US, opening a verité portal into the lives of contemporary Americans. Touring the US with new episodes weekly. “We wanted everything to feel like it was happening in real time, to put the viewer right in the middle of the conflict and get to know these people deeply.” Ha! This sounds totally crazy – and a bit voyeuristic turning these disputes into streaming entertainment. But hey, that’s America for you.
