Can You Keep A Secret? Trailer

“Don’t be silly. We’re just a bit complicated – like the Beckhams.” Paramount+ has revealed an official US trailer for a British dark comedy series called Can You Keep A Secret?, which originally debuted on BBC streaming earlier this month. It’s coming to the US on Paramount+ to watch starting in February. A retired couple, named Debbie & William Fendon, living in the West Country of England are presented with a unique criminal opportunity to claim life insurance when William is mistakenly declared to have died. Their son Harry is caught up in the drama, trying to hide the secret from his wife Neha, who is a local police officer. The story revolves around the Fendons’ attempts to figure out and stop whoever is blackmailing them for the money whilst hiding William, who has Parkinson’s Disease, from the public. Loosely based on the real-life John Darwin disappearance case from 2007. Can You Keep A Secret? is a UK sitcom featuring Dawn French, Mark Heap, Craig Roberts, and Mandip Gill. Early reviews say this series has “charm, wit and warmth enough to work as soothing balm rather than riotously fun fare.” Seems kooky enough – have a look.

Domineering granny Debbie Fendon, a woman who will stop at nothing to protect her family – is just the person they most need protecting from. When her hermit-like husband unexpectedly dies, she makes an outlandish decision that will put the family under more pressure than ever before. Because William isn’t actually dead – he just got mistakenly declared it and has been living in the loft while they wait for the life insurance to pay out. This comes as a bit of a shock to their easily frazzled son, Harold, whose wife, Neha works for the local police. Just as they come to terms with the baffling behavior of these geriatric toddlers, Debbie reveals another secret she’s been keeping up her sleeve – and this one could bring the whole family down. Can You Keep a Secret? is a series created & written by Simon Mayhew-Archer (also of “Josh”, “This Country”). With eps directed by Simon Hynd. Produced by Lauriel Martin & Joe Scantlebury. Exec produced by Kenton Allen, Simon Mayhew-Archer, Dawn French, Toby Welch. Paramount debuts the BBC series Can You Keep a Secret? streaming on Paramount+ in the US starting on February 12th, 2025 coming up soon.
