Peakto Introduces Powerful AI-Driven Culling Across All Your Photo Libraries

CYME has just announced Peakto 2.6, the latest version of its AI-powered media manager for Mac, introducing what is now the most comprehensive AI-driven culling and deduplication tool available for photographers and visual creators.

How It Works

Peakto 2.6 redefines how creators clean up and curate their libraries. For the first time, AI-based deduplication and culling are applied across an entire photo library. Peakto analyzes all of a user’s photos, regardless of where they live: across folders, multiple software catalogs, external hard drives, or NAS systems.

Because Peakto has already indexed and unified a user’s full media ecosystem, its new AI tools don’t work in isolation. They work globally.

The result is the ability to instantly identify similar, near-duplicate, or redundant images across everything you own—not just within a single folder or catalog. It’s the most powerful way to reclaim disk space, streamline archives, and focus only on your best shots.

Traditional culling tools operate locally and in silos. Peakto 2.6 changes that paradigm by applying AI to the entirety of a photographer’s work—no matter how fragmented the storage. Whether the goal is to free terabytes of storage or refine a portfolio down to its strongest images, Peakto 2.6 delivers clarity at scale.

Peakto 2.6 also brings significant performance improvements. The software is now capable of ingesting and handling even larger volumes of media with greater speed and stability—designed for growing libraries and demanding professional workflows.

As a collaborative media manager with a web version designed for teams, Peakto continues to improve how creators work together. With version 2.6, CYME introduces:

These refinements make collaboration more intuitive, faster, and more transparent—whether working solo or as part of a team.

With Peakto 2.6, CYME continues its vision of a local-first, AI-powered media manager that respects creators’ workflows while removing friction at every step. Peakto doesn’t just help you find your images; it helps you keep only the ones that matter. Peakto 2.6 is available now.

Recognized for its innovation, Peakto was awarded Product of the Year at NAB Show 2025 and the Jury’s Favorite award at SATIS 2024.

My Thoughts

I’ve personally used earlier versions of Peakto for a couple of years. It has saved me many times when looking for an image I knew I had but could not locate.

I haven’t tested this latest version, but I hope to spend some time with it soon and will let you know how it performs.
