New Balance 204L ‘Valentine’s Day’ Release Date U204L7AM

After unveiling its latest low-profile model, the croc-embossed Gator Run, earlier this week, New Balance is getting ready to give another one of its slim-soled sneakers a Valentine’s Day update.

The holiday theme falls on the Boston-based sportswear company’s popular 204L silhouette. While the upcoming release doesn’t feature any overt Valentine’s Day-centric motifs or symbolism, it instead tells its story through its color scheme.

The Rosewood color includes a mixture of soft pinks and white with small hits of bright red, a decidedly Valentine’s Day-leaning look. Material wise, the pair uses different types of mesh combined with suede, leather and synthetics. The style is somewhat reminiscent of November’s Pink Taffy/Rose Sugar 204L release, which featured a tonal pink colorway in suede. 

New Balance debuted the 204L in July 2025. A new addition to the brand’s retro-inspired lifestyle offerings, the shoe is notable for blending the silhouette and structure of 1970s running shoes with New Balance’s signature suede tech overlays. 

“It was a true collaborative effort working alongside our product manager, developer, and team of designers to bring this model to life. The [204L] shoe is designed to stand out from other New Balance models with this convergence of two different eras, set to be released in unique materials and colorways,” Pierome Sar, senior designer at New Balance, said in a press release accompanying the model’s reveal. 

Just days ago, New Balance released four new 204L styles in Cortado/Stone Pink, Black/Magnet, NB Navy/Salt Water and Gray Matter/Shipyard. 

The New Balance 204L Valentine’s Day colorway is already available from select overseas retailers and has an expected stateside release date of Jan. 30. With availability from newbalance.com and other stockists, the pair will retail for $120 with a style code of U204L7AM.
