New York-based indie Rocker Scarlet Rae, formerly of Rose Dorn and bar italia’s live lineup, released her solo EP No Heavy Goodbyes last year. She also contributed to the benefit comp Big Hug Volume Three and played a Stereogum/Weird Fucks event. Today, she’s got a new track called “Best Waitress (v1).”
As far as I can tell, there are no other versions of “Best Waitress” out in the world, though it’s easy to imagine a beefed-up full-band version of this one. The new self-produced single is a whispery lo-fi, semi-acoustic track about being “tired of waiting for the next tragic event.” Give it a spin below.
