Silence Featurette

“This time, you can all enter my world…” 🙈 Paramount Pictures has debuted another promo featurette for the horror movie titled Primate, the latest from 47 Meters Down director Johannes Roberts, opening in January. (We also posted another featurette last week.) This one focuses on Deaf actor Troy Kotsur who plays the father in the movie – he’s one of my favorite actors. Home from college, Lucy reunites with family including pet chimp Ben. Ben contracts rabies during a pool party and turns aggressive going after them. Lucy and friends barricade in the pool, trying to survive the vicious chimp. Starring Johnny Sequoyah, Jessica Alexander, and Troy Kotsur, along with Victoria Wyant, Gia Hunter, Benjamin Cheng, Charlie Mann, and Tienne Simon. One of the best scenes in the entire movie involves Kotsur returning home to check on his kids – and it turns silent because he can’t hear the chimp crashing around and creeping up on him. Especially unsettling and very chilling. Very cool they made this video to tease this scene – enjoy.

Here’s the “silence” featurette with Troy Kotsur for Johannes Roberts’ horror movie Primate, on YouTube:

You can rewatch the first official trailer for Johannes Roberts’ Primate movie right here for more footage.

When she returns home from college, Lucy (Johnny Sequoyah) reunites with her family and reconnects with their pet: a chimpanzee named Ben. During a party, the primate contracts rabies and becomes very aggressive. Lucy & her friends will have to barricade themselves in the pool, devising different strategies in order to survive. A tropical vacation that will end up turning into a terrifying primitive story of horror and survival. Primate is directed by veteran British genre filmmaker Johannes Roberts, director of the two 47 Meters Down shark movies, along with Forest of the Damned, Storage 24, The Other Side of the Door, The Strangers: Prey at Night, and 2021’s Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City previously. The screenplay is from Johannes Roberts & Ernest Riera. Produced by Walter Hamada, John Hodges, Bradley Pilz. This initially premiered at Fantastic Fest 2025 and the Sitges Film Festival. Paramount Pics will debut Roberts’ Primate in theaters nationwide starting on January 9th, 2026 after New Years. Want to watch?
